“In the Shape of 4-H,” on Sunday at 6:30, at the fairgrounds the extension office is taking a picture of all the 4-H’ers who want to come. BBQ tickets have gone out, the annual 4-H chicken BBQ will be held June 8th at the fairgrounds, but the unsold tickets and the money collected is due May 26th to Mrs. Wortman. The extension office announced that they are trying to raise money for a new 4-H shaved ice machine and are selling Little Ceasars Pizza its & Success Seeds, which the money, tally sheet and order forms, are due by May 3, 2010. No Later Please. 4-H camp is July 9-13 and judging is July 20 and July 26, alternate judging is July 15.
At the meeting there were 3 advisors and 53 members. Catlin Hancock, the secretary called the meeting to order. Dylan Hicks led the pledge to the American Flag and Chelsea Hancock led the 4-H Pledge. Catlin led roll call, topic of favorite vacation and Daniel Joseph gave his treasurers report. Mrs. Wortman talked about the green club programs, project books, pictures and 4-H newspaper articles, the 4-H banquet, turkeys, quality assurance, and the spring rabbit show.
The demonstrations of the meeting were as follows: Taylor Hughes-Adventures in home living, Rachel Hall- making a quesadilla and the food pyramid, Morgan Klinger- basic disqualifications and faults of a rabbit, Layken Klinger- Popcorn trail mix, and Justin Overmeyer – English Lops. Demonstrations for next week are: Sarah Klinger, Chelsea Hancock, Clare Mefferd, Casey Gibson, Noah Daughtery, and Katlin Hallfeldy. Refreshments for next week are: the Hicks family and the Mefford family. The Recreation team led scoot your buns and Mrs. Wortman adjourned the meeting for snacks and refreshments. The next Ohio Challengers meeting is May 26th, 2010.
